Slobodno/ Available

Preformance, 36 min, 2012

The piece Slobodno (Available) is directed towards the issue of public space. I performed the piece as a reaction to the situation in which public space gradually disappears because of private interests. The performance took place in one of Zagreb’s squares which was the symbol of an affair caused by a local businessman who built an elite shopping mall there. I wove the word SLOBODNO (Croatian word for free, available) into a metal bench which lost its function of a public resting place. The performance was documented with a video camera.
